as a photographer, i know how important it is to print your photos. i love seeing how my daughter glows when she helps open up a package and see that it’s the latest prints and then helps me put it on the wall. i usually don’t have problems figuring out how to showcase our prints however the only place i struggled was our hallway. i just couldn’t figure out how to decorate it. then came our wee carina and i finally knew what i wanted to do. a first year sister love series. each month, i print a candid photo of the two of them doing their sister thing. the 8×12 photos are mounted so i could stick them up on the wall without worrying about purchasing 12 frames.
and now every time i walk through the hallway, i not only see their physical growth but also their relationship as sisters.
but now i can’t figure out what photo should be for month 12! i wasn’t sure if i wanted to bookend with month 1 from our newborn lifestyle shoot with c wagner photography:
so i captured these swaddled photos:
b) i love how it shows her 3 top teeth and 3 bottom teeth which is too funny (and odd ha)
or if i wanted to use one of these.
c) this one isn’t the best, but it’s pretty typical. emilia giving loads of love and carina having grump face and trying to escape (wall outlet would be removed) and was taken on her first birthday.
d) the signs of fall and the tender kiss just gets me. taken a few days after her first birthday
e) this one is my favorite as it was taken on her first birthday. but all of the photos from the series, you see them from the front. but by showcasing them from behind, maybe it helps indicate the end of the series though the bw swaddle photo does the same? however, there’s a big however…
…i really love this photo so i know that it will be printed. if it’s not used in the hallway to end the first year sister series, then i would have it printed as a large metallic print (16×24) to go on the other side of our maternity photo from tenley. the photo of emilia was taken on her fourth birthday so carina’s first birthday photo from our hill would be fitting on the other side. originally i wanted it to be a solo image of carina however she’s real tough to take a picture of and i wasn’t in love with the solo pictures from this session.
*photoshopped in for reference*
so what do you think? what should the final photo be for the first year sister series be?
